Has anyone had success in adding an automatic renewal stipulation to a customer contract? I feel like I spend too much time calling and emailing current advertising customers about renewing an expiring contract. Too often I never get a hold of them until the contract expires and they finally let me know they will not renew, which means I’ve lost a lot of time I could have spent on looking for a new customer to replace them (including a lost month or two of rent while finding a new customer).
I know many apartment rental contracts have automatic renewal options built in that trigger a new lease unless a customer provides written notice of ending their lease (usually 60 or 90 days ahead of when the lease is scheduled to end).
Any thoughts on this? Frank, what do you think?
