Proof of Performance

Had a customer request a “proof of performance” on my billboard. Can you share what that is?

I’ve never heard of that. He may be asking for an audited traffic count, which only the large operators do, It is effectively meaningless, and I’ve never heard a local advertiser ask for such a thing. I would ask him what he wants exactly – it’s definitely not something that is standard.

After further research, a proof of performance or P.O.P. is a brief outline of a billboard with photos of the ad on the sign, maybe 1 close up photo and 1 from the road verifying to the customer the ad is now active. Some reports are getting more sophisticated as there are now systems which communicate to bb owners the status of their lighting system via wireless communications. More info is located here:
