I’m in negotiations to purchase a piece of land, but the guy wants to sell me only a 4x4 area where the pole would be placed. The price he is asking is substantial, so I’m just curious if that is typical in the industry? Do most people just get the lease for that ground space or do they typically get the land that the entire signs covers? Also, do I need to get air rights if I agree to only get the 4x4 area of land?
