Talking to attorneys - how safe is it?

Hey,

I am in process of buying a billboard and searching for an attorney.

First question attorneys ask is “What are the company names of involved parties?” and do a conflict check. The attorneys I am talking to all have other billboard clients.

I am worried that same attorney can tip off my competitor that company X is selling signs.

Should I guard the company name until last second, or maybe I worry too much? I am contemplating of providing a different name to an attorney and only provide real company name once attorney is chosen and engaged?

Thanks,
Mark

That is a very reasonable concern. I would not give out the name of the company you are buying to anyone until it is under contract.

Thank you!
